DISSONA are a progressive metal band from the south side of Chicago, IL, originally formed in 2005 under the name THE VISION. They self-released their self-titled, debut album in 2012. As of 2012, they consist of David DUBENIC (vocals), Matt MOTTO (lead guitar), Logan WRIGHT (keyboard, rhythm guitar), Craig HAMBURGER (bass) and Drew GODDARD (drums, percussion).

DISSONA's style of progressive metal is melodic and technically proficient, and it draws from a number of different metal styles: at times it channels OPETHian death metal blasts, and at others it progresses through swirling technical melodies a lá the metalcore aspects of BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME or BURST, adding a heavy dose of homage to the traditional heavy metal aspects of bands like FATES WARNING, all while drastically switching pace and heaviness in a manner reminiscent of the chaotic UNEXPECT.
