Note : Kathryn Bigelow's debut vampire western is less seen that it should be, and that's a shame. The movie's mostly carried by its villains, with both the late, great Bill Paxton and Lance Henriksen giving unforgettable performances, solidly backed by Jenette Goldstein (Aliens, Terminator 2) and Joshua Miller. Do you like vampires bursting into flame, cowboy hats, shootouts, and bloody shitkicker massacres? This is definitely the film for you.
This remaster is sadly not the best. Color is ok, if a bit pale, but they went overboard with the degrain, and then added a bit more sharpen than would have been ideal. Kathryn Bigelow's commentary track is good, but a bit sparse. I wish for a better quality remaster, but in the meantime, there's this.
